In Vex, in the canton of Valais, 2 communal buildings were constructed to provide a new school for the valley's children and offer modern apartments for the residents. These had to combine aesthetics and sustainability. The choice of Solaris™ Classic solar tiles from Freesuns helped transform this project into a true energy reference.
With a solar surface area of 795 m² and an installed capacity of 109 kWp, the municipality has taken a decisive step towards a sustainable future.
Self-consumption has already reached 95%, an exceptional performance that illustrates the efficiency of the tiles chosen and the relevance of installing a solar roof on such a building. What's more, the energy produced not only supplies the new buildings: it's so abundant that the old municipal building next door now benefits from the installation, covering part of its heating needs.
Thanks to the expertise of local partners
Carthoblaz SA, a tinsmith and roofing company, and
Fournier-Maccagnan architects, the buildings' design and innovative solutions are in perfect harmony.
By choosing Freesuns roof tiles, the commune of Vex is proving that it is possible to combine architectural beauty, energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
