A solar chalet with a traditional allure

Project description

In a picturesque corner of the Valais region, a charming chalet was recently renovated to incorporate a discreet, sustainable energy solution: a solar roof from Freesuns.

The owner wanted to preserve the authenticity of his chalet while adopting environmentally-friendly technology. His choice was therefore Solaris™ Heritage tiles, which blend perfectly with the building's traditional aesthetic. The old Eternit tile roof was replaced, and new insulation was also installed to improve the chalet's overall energy efficiency.

Keen to promote the local economy, the owner chose to involve local professionals in the project: Vogel SA for the tinsmithing and roofing, and a local electrician.

The owner, delighted with the result and keen to raise awareness of the benefits of solar energy among his neighbors and passers-by, asked Freesuns to design a customized wooden panel. Placed in front of the house, this sign discreetly informs that the roof, although authentic in appearance, is in fact an innovative solar solution. Walkers are already showing an interest, with many pausing in front of the sign with its unexpected message “100% solar roof”.

Today, this chalet is not only an example of the harmonious integration of solar energy, but also an ambassador for the region's energy transition.
