This beautiful house, newly constructed, is a lakefront home in St-Sulpice (VD). The property consists of four adjoining house blocks with a total of 8 roof sections. Since there is a big old tree right next to the property which creates shade during the day, it was decided to take advantage from the flexible design of Freesuns solution and cover only 50% of the roof with photovoltaic tiles. The owner and the architect were looking for an integrated solar solution that would retain the architectural design, yield maximum energy production while ensuring an aesthetic integration with the non-solar part of the roof.
The North and South blocks of the property are covered with our solar tile SOLARIS™ Premium Black while the four middle roof sections are fitted with cement tiles. The solar and non-solar tiles have the same dimension which gives a uniform rendering.
In order to maximize the energy production, we have also equipped the flat roof of the garage with our solar tiles which increased the total power installed by 15%. Since there is a balcony just above the garage, it was, again, important to have an integrated solar solution and without light reflection. Thanks to the design range of Freesuns solar tiles, we could meet these architectural requirements.
The house is also equipped with a heat pump which provides hot water, home heating and swimming pool heating. All Freesuns integrated solar roofs are installed with the SolarEdge™ system and at St-Sulpice we have also installed a battery, the perfect combination to ensure high solar energy auto consumption!
